Director of Engineering

We are looking for a hands-on technical leader to join our team. This individual will be managing projects, building the engineering group and taking an active role in our continued growth.

Boston Device Development is a new product development firm located in the Allston area of Boston. We work with companies to commercialize new technologies for medical, commercial and industrial applications. We offer a creative work environment with engaging clients and interesting projects.

Responsibilities

• Project Management including technical leadership, client communication, multi-disciplinary project resourcing, and project financial management
• Participation in detailed design and engineering tasks (CAD, documentation, engineering analysis, prototyping, etc) as needed on projects
• Management of human resourcing for engineering team including hiring, performance reviewing and conflict resolution
• Establishment and maintenance of best practices for engineering process and deliverables with continual focus on improvement
• Participation on new business development activities including capability presentations and proposal development

Requirements

• 9+ Years of hands-on product engineering experience (experience in a consulting environment highly preferred)
• Extensive experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams (research, marketing, industrial design, quality, regulatory, manufacturing)
• Proficiency in mechanical design, electronics integration, engineering analysis, manufacturing methods
• Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MS Preferred) or other related engineering discipline
