Eric Sugalski is the founder and principal engineer of Boston Device. He has extensive experience in the development of electro-mechanical devices, ranging from controlled freeze-thaw pharmaceutical handling machines to laparoscopic electrosurgical instruments, drug delivery systems, an installed breast cancer detection system, and robotic laboratory equipment. With a strong focus on the development of complex electromechanical systems, Sugalski has broad experience in design, prototyping, manufacturing, and program management.

Sugalski has led multi-disciplinary teams in the development of new medical devices for the past 10 years. Prior to founding Boston Device, Sugalski was the Director of Engineering at Insight Product Development. He holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Sugalski is also heavily involved at M.I.T. instructing two mechanical engineering courses focused on new product development.
